About the Event
Now, in the age of “artificial intelligence”, we have to say goodbye to our usual positions. We have reached a point where the world can only be explained as digital code in the future and human individuals could be instrumentalized as insignificant data objects and reduced to commercial and political interests.
The philosopher Immanuel Kant defined the Enlightenment as “man’s emergence from his self-incurred immaturity”, but also as “the maxim to think for oneself at all times”. This definition is becoming increasingly relevant in the current digital developments. Are we subject to “digital immaturity” today and can the call to think for ourselves herald a “digital enlightenment”?
As part of the discussion, the question of how the digital transformation can be shaped in terms of a co-evolution of human and machine will be explored. How to differentiate between narrative, reality and fiction and the fact that Kant’s question can only be answered by humans.
