Katrin Attermeyer is a senior scientist affiliated with the University of Vienna and the WasserCluster Lunz in Austria. Her main interests are aquatic biogeochemistry and microbial ecology. She currently leads her own research group at WasserCluster Lunz that is dedicated to better understanding and unraveling the mysteries of the smallest organisms involved in the turnover of carbon in freshwaters from source to sea using monitoring data, experimental and field studies.
