Between doubts and facts: The foundations of progress

Scientists see themselves as questioning and committed to the state of knowledge. They often counter fundamental rejection with attempts to explain their knowledge even better. However, the skepticism about science that we know today is not only due to a lack of understanding; it has various ideological foundations and its spread also has to do with social media and political attitudes. So what can be done? What can science, business and politics do to strengthen trust in scientific discourse and the scientific method?
