About the Event

In the age of “artificial intelligence”, all of our familiar and lived values and positions are at stake. We have reached a point where the world can only be explained as digital code in the future and human individuals could be instrumentalized as insignificant data objects and reduced to commercial and political interests. In order to shape these rapid developments in a sustainable way, we need innovative ideas, social commitment and, above all, joint reflection on transformation processes and unconventional solutions. A consistent overall concept for the benefit of society in Europe seems to be a way forward, but digital policy issues do not always arise at the same time for different reasons. Orientation and responsible action are needed to shape a good life within the framework conditions of a digital world.

How will our much-vaunted recognized and lived values change in the age of digitalization? Are values a constant that are unchanging and, if so, what exactly are these values? What room for maneuver is there, for example, in the values of freedom, responsibility, security or sustainability? Should a new framework for interpretation or action be derived? These central questions are the focus of the discussion evening.
