With the development of ChatGPT, the fantasies and debates about artificial intelligence have reached a new peak. Chatbots write texts, answer questions and even simulate human-like creativity. Intelligent machines inspire utopias about new levels of performance and efficiency as well as dystopias about loss of competence and dependency. Basically, being human itself is put up for discussion.

This lecture in Vienna explores the question of how artificial intelligence will change our lives and what it will take for its development and design to be adapted to the needs of humans - and not the other way around.
