CAIML doctoral researcher Alexander Beiser receives 2025/26 Dieberger–Peter Skalicky Grant
The competitive Dieberger–Peter Skalicky Grant will fund Alexander Beiser’s participation in leading international conferences and research stays abroad.

Alexander Beiser, a PhD candidate at the Center for Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (CAIML), investigates how explainable and neuro-symbolic AI techniques can enhance future air-traffic-management systems. He conducts his research under the supervision of Prof. Stefan Woltran and Prof. Nysret Musliu and in close collaboration with industry partner Frequentis.
This year Beiser was selected as one of up to eight recipients of the Dieberger–Peter Skalicky Grant, an award that supports outstanding early-career scientists from TU Wien. The grant will cover travel costs for international conferences and short research visits, helping him share results with the global AI and aviation-safety communities and strengthen his international network.
The award was decided by an independent jury of academics and industry representatives.
