Livia Blasi
Short Bio
Livia holds a Master’s degree in Computer Engineering from Sapienza University of Rome. Since 2020, she has worked at the Bank of Italy as part of the Applied Research Team (ART). She is currently pursuing a PhD in Knowledge Representation and Reasoning in Financial Graphs at TU Wien under the supervision of Emanuel Sallinger. She is based in Rome.
PhD Project – Reasoning on Financial Knowledge Graphs

Knowledge Graphs (KGs) are a data model for representing domains characterized by complex entities and rich interrelations. From a computer science perspective, they provide a foundation for automated reasoning and deductive AI, enabling logical inference, query answering, and the discovery of implicit knowledge.
This PhD project focuses on financial knowledge graphs, addressing the challenges of dynamic, time-evolving data. It explores the integration of temporal reasoning and temporal logic within reasoning frameworks, aiming to support sound and efficient inference over temporal data, enhance expressiveness, and improve tasks such as anomaly detection, pattern discovery, and decision support in financial systems.
